Racing History (click for pictures)

I have been involved in racing since I was very young. My father raced the #19 Sportsman and Late Model in the 70's and 80's. I grew up watching him and eventually started helping as I got older. The excitement of going to the track as a kid is something that has stayed with me to this day.

In 1995, we purchased our first "late model". It was a very used 1983 Dillon Chassis with a newer Monte Carlo body. We ran the 95-96 seasons with it at Lake Geneva Raceway. It was a good learning experience.

In 1997, we purchased a 1992 Randercar Super Late Model. We ran the 97-99 seasons at Lake Geneva Raceway and also a few nights at Madison International Speedway. The newer car and experience allowed us to be competitive. One of my fondest racing memories was hauling the car up to MIS for the first time with my overloaded 1985 Chevrolet 1/2 ton with an open trailer. We won the heat race, advanced through the semi and made it up to 6th in the feature event. Since then, MIS has been my favorite track.

In 2000 we built our first new car. It was a Pathfinder Chassis with a Monte Carlo body. We ran the 2000-2005 partial seasons at Lake Geneva Raceway and also nights at Madison International Speedway. We were very competitive when we raced and had numerous top five finishes.

I have been very fortunate to have family and friends help me with racing through the years. Jack Licht has been the co-owner of the cars since the beginning and supports the team in all the areas.

In 2006 we are racing for Kevin Tunks and Tunks Motorsports. We will be running for the Limited Late Model Championships at MIS and varios Super Late Model races this year. I want to personally thank Kevin and Becky for the opportunity to join their team.

Sincerely,

Billy Baumeister
